The Joker is portrayed as a clown who commits crimes, but is packed with good things that make the audience's character in the film diverse. This research aims to see how GCC members interpret information in Joker (2019) using three categories of positions, namely dominant hegemonic positions, negotiations, and opposition. This research uses a qualitative approach to descriptive research types and encoding-decoding theory by Stuart Hall. Researchers analyzed using audience reception analysis methods. The results showed there were differences in the use of any information described in the scene in the film Joker (2019). The audience position is dominated by the dominant hegemonic position on the joker's makeup information, joker Meets psychiatrist, joker does not return sign, joker dances after kill, and Joker performs magic tricks. Opposition figures were informed the joker killed a friend who was coming, and the joker attended a talkshow.
