Abstract

female genital mutilations is still being an on going tradition from generation to generation in terms of religion, culture, and health. The aims of this research is to explain about Liputan 6.com as an online media that does framing female genital mutilations. This research is using the social construction of mass media theory and a qualitative approach with Robert N Entman's framing content analysis method. This method was divided into four elements of define problem, diagnose causes, make moral judgement,treatment recommendation. The result of this research shows that Liputan 6.com is framing female circumcision as a tradition that must be abandoned. In terms of health, religion, and culture, Liputan 6.com has always positioned itself as a counter media to the tradition of female circumcision.
