Pola Komunikasi Trainer dengan Pekerja Disabilitas di Precious One

Abstract

Precious One is an institution that empowers people with disabilities to work through the two fields that have been provided. This study aims to determine communication patterns through mentoring trainers to disabled workers, in carrying out the work process. This study uses the theory of symbolic interactionism to build perspective and focus on verbal and non-verb interaction, l between trainers and workers with disabilities (deaf, hard of hearing, downsyndrome and autism) in Precious One. This study uses paradigm post positivism with a descriptive qualitative approach, where there’s a depiction of a reality that’s formed in the community in accordance with the moral essence of research, and then find a meaning from the results of the research. The results of this study are linear and circular communication patterns. The pattern of linear communication carried out by the trainer as an encoder uses everyday Indonesian, and the response by disabled syndrome and autism workers (sometimes not responding) is passive. Circular communication patterns carried out by two point actors who function as encoder, decoder, and interpreter alternately and face-to-face and sign language between trainers and workers with disabilities, and vice versa, namely deaf workers, physically disabled, down syndrome and autistic (which give response).
