Konstruksi Sosok Ayah dalam Film Nanti Kita Cerita tentang Hari Ini

Abstract

A father has an important role in the life of a family. The figure of a father appears dominantly in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini. This study aims to determine the construction of the Figure of the Father who appeared in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini by using constructivism as the paradigm. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach and Social Construction Theory in the Mass Media and using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis which has three elements of meaning namely sign, object, and interpretant. The results of this study found that there are seven father figures was constructed in the film Nanti Kita Cerita Tentang Hari Ini. There are positive and negative father figures. Among them are wise and calm fathers, fathers who are incapable of being fair, fathers who are firm, protective, and like to force his will. In addition, the father is also constructed as a figure who often covers his feelings, always wants to be actively involved in the lives of his children, and father who put personal interests above the interests of children.
