dc.description.abstract | Every individual has the freedom to express themselves. However, there are limitations such as values and norms that apply so that the individual side of the personality is not fully displayed. Twitter provides free space for its users to present themselves. This is the basis for creating alter ego accounts, a phenomenon where anonymous accounts do not display their real identity. This study aims to determine the form of self-presentation of alter ego users on Twitter which refers to the Dramaturgy theory. This research is a descriptive analysis type using in-depth interviews and documentation as data collection techniques. The results showed that the alter ego account users managed a good impression on a daily life (front stage) in accordance with the expectations and social standards prevailing in society, while on the alter ego account (back stage) self-presentation was carried out as is through the use of verbal language, a relaxed and vulgar self-appearance, to the formation of a self-image that is different from what should be maintained in daily life. | en_US |
